AMX Cargo Signs ECS for Central and South America Services

Article Tools

European Cargo Services (ECS) has won a Europe-wide GSA contract from AMX Cargo, significantly developing its coverage of the Central and South America markets.

The all-cargo airline operates Boeing 767 freighter services from its hub in Miami to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela. From Guatemala and Costa Rica, AMX also provides road feeder services to El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.

With each B767 freighter offering 40 tons of cargo capacity, ECS expects to generate some 3,000 tons of cargo a year for AMX Cargo’s destinations in Central and South America.

“This is a very important new contract for ECS because it is a great opportunity to develop markets in Central and South America for all of our European stations,” said Jesus Escolar, Managing Director of General Airline Services—part of the ECS group of companies. “It is also an important step in further developing the close business relationship we have with companies in the Aeromexpress Group. AMX Cargo has plans to grow its all-cargo network and we are confident of being able to support their development.”
